Dhaval’s First Day at School

Dhaval was very excited today! He was going to school for the very first time.  He was thinking about many things.
“Will I like my school? Will I have new friends? What if I feel like crying? Will my teacher be nice?”
Come, let’s find out what happens in Dhaval’s story!

Dhaval was a small and sweet boy, just like you. This year, he turned three, and now it was time for him to go to school. Tomorrow was going to be his very first day at school!

At night, Dhaval’s mother hugged him and said,
“Dhaval, school is going to be so much fun! You will meet lots of new friends, get to play, and learn wonderful things. I will also pack your favorite snacks in your tiffin!”

“Mom, will I cry there?” Dhaval asked, feeling a little scared.

Mom smiled, kissed his forehead, and said,
“Oh, my little one, there will be so many kids just like you! You will have a great time!”

Dhaval slowly closed his eyes and fell asleep.

In the morning, birds were singing outside. Mom softly woke Dhaval up.
“Wake up, Dhaval! School is waiting for you!”

Dhaval rubbed his eyes and asked with a beautiful smile on his face,
“Mom, is it really my first day at school today?”

“Yes, my dear!”

After he took a bath, Mom picked him up and dressed him neatly. A brand-new school uniform, shiny shoes, and a beautiful backpack—Dhaval looked like a brave little soldier!

Dhaval arrived at the big school gate, holding his mom’s hand tightly. Some kids were laughing, some looked nervous, and some were crying while clinging to their parents!

“Mom, look! Why are these kids crying?” Dhaval asked curiously.

“Some children feel scared in a new place. But don’t worry, they will soon start enjoying it!” Mom reassured him.

Just then, a friendly lady smiled at Dhaval and said,
“Hello, Dhaval! I am your teacher. Come, let’s go inside!”

Mom waved goodbye, and Dhaval slowly walked inside.

The classroom was bright and colorful! There were colorful balloons, pictures, and toys everywhere. Some kids were playing, while others were looking at the pretty pictures on the walls.

In one corner, a little boy was sitting quietly and crying.

Dhaval went up to him and asked,
“Hey, what’s wrong?”

The boy wiped his nose and said,
“My mom left me… I feel so lonely!”

Dhaval gave a big smile and said,
“My mom left too, but look, we have our teacher, toys, and so many friends here! Let’s be friends!”

“Really? Will you be my friend?” the boy asked.

“Of course! My name is Dhaval. What’s yours?”

“I’m Arjun!” Arjun smiled. And just like that, the two became friends and started playing together!

Soon, the teacher clapped and said,
“Come, let’s sing and dance!”

All the children stood in a circle and followed their teacher, singing:
“Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall…”

Dhaval and Arjun danced happily, moving to the rhythm and laughing together!

After that, the teacher started a fun ball game. The children had to throw a ball into a bucket as part of the game.

Dhaval tried, but the ball missed! He tried again.
“Oh no!” he sighed sadly.

“Don’t give up! Try again!” Arjun encouraged him. This time, Dhaval focused, threw the ball, and… plop! The ball landed right in the bucket!

“YESSS…..!!” Dhaval cheered excitedly. All the kids clapped for him!

After the game, the teacher called all the children and said,
“Now, I will tell you a story!”

All the children sat still, looking at the teacher with big eyes. The teacher’s voice became soft and magical as she began:
“Once upon a time, in a big jungle, there was a little rabbit. He was playful and very clever. One day, he decided to play with a big, mighty tiger. And then…”

Everyone listened quietly, looking surprised. Dhaval and Arjun looked at each other, grinning.

“Wow, this story is amazing!” Arjun whispered.

“Yes! I want to hear more!” Dhaval giggled.

After the story, the teacher said,
“It’s time to open your lunchboxes!”

Dhaval and Arjun sat together on a bench.

“What do you have for lunch?” Arjun asked.

“Paratha and butter! And you?”

“Dosa with chutney! Shall we share?”

“Yes!” they both laughed and enjoyed their meal together.

When lunch was over, it was time to go home. Parents arrived at the school gate, and Dhaval’s face lit up when he saw his mom!

“So, how was school today?” Mom asked.

“Mom, it was so much fun! I met Arjun, we played games, sang songs, listened to a story, and had a great time! I want to come back tomorrow!”

Mom smiled and gave him a big hug. Dhaval walked home happily, singing a little song and waving his hands.

Dhaval had loved his first day of school! And best of all, he had found a new friend!
